No Touch Hand Washing

One of the more interesting advancements in hand washing is the T&S Checkpoint Hydro-Generator faucet model EC-3101-HG. Electronic faucets have always been intriguing and are the ultimate in sanitation, however, they have not always been reliable.

Electronic faucets where developed due to the rising cases of food born illnesses. Faucets with handles are not sanitary due to the fact you have to touch them to turn them on and touch them again to turn them off ,thereby, contaminating your clean hands. Wrist blade handles look bad and are clumsy and you still have to touch the handles. Foot pedal valves are convenient but are very hard to clean around and knee valves some people just don't like. So what is one to do?

Electronic faucet designs have consistently progressed and have advanced past there early design problems of bad sensors, transformer problems, and weak batteries etc. Plus, there is something about have electricity under a sink with water, that just does not seam to sit well with me.

However, the Checkpoint hydro-generator faucet solves all those problems. You pass your hands under the faucet and the water automatically comes on and shuts off without touching anything. There is no more problems with weak batteries or transformers because the faucet generates its own power by just using the faucet. Water passing through the faucet turns the generator and recharges the system on its own and there is enough capacity to store power to last through a Spring Break or Christmas holiday season without use. There is no need for anymore electrical under the sink either, which I like. If the sensor is blocked for any reason, then the faucet will automatically shut-off. The new LEED flow requirements can be accomplished by using one of the low flow aerator options.

The faucet is not cheap, however, the quality is far superior to any of the faucets you get from the hand sink manufacturers which are imported. For those of you with existing hand wash faucets, you can make your existing faucet No Touch by adding and aerator part from Component Hardware called the Quick-Wash hand wash control Model KN91-0100.
